AMS 5879 / Alloy 625 (UNS N06625) Strip – Nickel-Based Superalloy for High-Temperature & Corrosive Service

Image
AMS 5879 specification covers a corrosion- and heat-resistant nickel alloy ( Alloy 625 / UNS N06625 ) in the form of sheet, strip, and foil up to 0.100 inch (2.54 mm) in nominal thickness. Inconel 625 is a high-performance nickel alloy that offers an exceptional combination of corrosion resistance, strength, and thermal stability. Its resistance to harsh environments comes from the precise balance of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, while niobium provides a strong solid-solution strengthening effect, giving it significantly higher strength than alloys such as Inconel 600. 1. Product Specifications & Physical Data Alloy 625 derives its high strength from the stiffening effect of molybdenum and niobium on the nickel-chromium matrix. Unlike precipitation-hardening alloys, no heat treatment is required to achieve its mechanical properties, making it particularly suitable for thin-gauge strip applications. Available Forms:  Sheet, strip, foil (up to 0.100″ / 2.54 mm) . Spec...
